Voter Fraud and Voter Intimidation
Posted by on October 09, 2012
Has anyone attempted to block you from voting or from legally registering to vote?  Please share your experiences below.  Voter intimidation and elections tampering should not be tolerated. It is up to a vigilant electorate to watch out for illegal activity.

This year, Georgia residents will be required to show ID before they vote in person.  Six forms of ID are acceptable: Georgia Driver's License, even if expired; Valid US government employee photo ID; Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority or other entity of this state; Valid U.S. passport ID; Valid U.S. military photo ID; or Valid tribal photo ID.  For more information about acceptable ID cards, click this link.

Voters who use absentee ballots are not required to show ID. Have you experienced problems securing a valid ID?  Please share your experiences below. Were you able to vote in-person without problem?

If you witness voter fraud please call the Secretary of State’s Elections Division Voter Fraud Hotline at 877-725-9797.  You can also submit a complaint online at: http://www.sos.ga.gov/Stopvoterfraud/

I recently went to the DMV to get my mom a Georgia ID and register her to vote. She recently moved here from Ohio and lives with me after having a disabling stroke. I had her birth certificate, SS card, an expired Ohio ID, and mail with her name on it to my address. I was told that she has to prove her name was changed at marriage because her birth certificate is in her maiden name. I have to therefore go to Indiana to get this document or paid almost $80 online for it. I think this is sexist because MEN don't have to go this extra step if they have been married, so why do WOMEN. I called the Govenors office to complaint, but was only told that the message would be relayed. I didn't feel my complaint was taken seriously. How do I protest and get support from other women!! How was this law passed in the first place!! Everyone should have to go through the same steps regardless of sex!!!! It is unfair for women to have to go an extra step and expense for a Georgia ID.

Dear Congressman Scott: I just read an article about Florida's current voter intimidation and would like for you to suggest a bill for future elections. If it is possible, I think voting jurisdictions should have a minimum amount of voting machines, precincts, and early-voting days based on the number registered voters. If resources limit the amount of voting machines, then there should be more days and more precincts available. Creating and/or neglecting voter fatigue should be in violation of voters' rights. Everyone in this country has a right to vote within a reasonable amount of time without hardship. Thank you for your time and consideration. May you continue to provide excellent service to our district. Sincerely, Renee Matthews
