Protecting Our Precious Water Resources

In the West, we know how valuable water is to our economy and way of life.  It is one of the most precious resources in our state, and deciding how it is used should be the responsibility of state and local officials who are familiar with the people and local issues, not handed over to a federal bureaucracy.  As Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, which oversees funding for land management agencies and the Environmental Protection Agency, I am working to ensure that communities have adequate resources to ensure that their citizens have access to clean, safe water without unnecessary burdens being placed on them by federal agencies.
