  2. On January 21, 2013, Americans from across the country will come together in Washington, DC, to celebrate the second Inauguration of President Barack Obama. We have a limited number of tickets available, and you can apply by writing to kilili@mail.house.gov.

    Tickets are non-transferable, and those from the Northern Mariana Islands will be given first priority.

    The deadline for requests is Monday, January 3, 2013. Tickets will not be mailed out. If you are notified that you will receive a ticket, you must pick them up from 423 CHOB, Washington, DC on either January 19 or January 20, 2013 depending on when we receive them from the Presidential Inauguration Committee or the Speaker’s Office.

Today presents all our people with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education. We honor teachers, teacher aides, counselors, librarians, maintenance staff and staff at the central office. Today, Commissioner of Education Rita A. Sablan will also announce the Teacher of the Year award to a deserving teacher.
