Letters of Support

Below please find letters of support for legislation introduced by Congressman Price in the 112th Congress.

HR 1700 - The Medicare Patient Empowerment Act

The Medicare Patient Empowerment Act would ensure the rights of Medicare beneficiaries and physcians (ant other providers) are barred from contracting with one another. While gaining the right to independently contract for items and services under this legislation, Medicare beneficiaries would still retain their Medicare benefits.

HR 969 - The Medical Practice Freedom Act

The Medicale Practice Freedom Act would prohibit the Secretary of Health and Human Services or any state from requiring, as a condition of licensure, that a health care provider participate in any health plan.

HR 2077 - The MLR Repeal Act of 2011

This legislation would repeal the medical loss ratio requirements (MLR) enacted under ObamaCare. The MLR provisions require insurance providers in the individual/cmall group and large group markets to spend 80 and 85 percent respectipeively of premiums collected on claims or quality improvement activities - an action that will limit the number of available providers offering coverage.
