It is one of the highest honors I have as a Member of Congress to assist deserving constituents in seeking appointment to a United States Military Academy. We, as a nation, are blessed to have dedicated patriots, willing to answer the call to service. From the first patriots who answered the call at Bunker Hill to those who stand guard today in the mountains of Afghanistan, millions of your fellow Americans, past and present, salute your willingness to serve.
To maintain the integrity of the process and ensure that no political, personal, or non-military judgments enter the nomination process, I have appointed an advisory board of former officers, enlisted men and women, and civilians to interview, assess, and recommend for appointment. This board is chaired by Col. Gary Clark (USAF Ret.), Chairman of the Polk County Veterans Council.
