Internships

Internships can be a great opportunity to learn the legislative process, experience life in Washington, DC, and see how your government works (and doesn't) up close and personal.

Representative Dennis Ross (R-FL) has openings for college students (under or post grad) to participate in unpaid internships to join his Washington, DC and Lakeland offices.  Successful candidates must have excellent organizational, personal, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities in the DC Office include greeting visitors, conducting tours of the U.S. Capitol, filling flag requests, answering telephones, sorting mail, and other general office duties.  Florida ties are a plus but not required.

The Lakeland office interns will be responsible for assisting with answering phones, legislative writing and research, placing flag requests, and other outreach and administrative duties.

Internships are offered three times per year.  If applying in our DC Office, you must be able to serve for at least 10 consecutive weeks to be considered.

We offer a rolling application, meaning we continually accept applications, in both offices for the following semesters:

Spring:  January – April
Summer:  May – August
Fall:  August – December
