PEARCE OFFERS SUPPORT FOR DEPLOYING NM TROOPS, FAMILIES

Alamogordo, NM (December 3, 2012) - Today, Rep. Steve Pearce offered his support, encouragement, and prayers for the men and women of the 595th Sapper Company, 2nd Engineering Battalion, and their families.  Members of the company are preparing to deploy to Afghanistan from White Sands Missile Range. 

"As always, our men and women in uniform will be in my thoughts and prayers as they serve in defense of freedom in foreign fields," said Pearce.  "And, especially during this holiday season, I ask my fellow New Mexicans to join me in supporting those military families who are unable to spend the holidays with their loved ones abroad."

Pearce, himself a Vietnam veteran, spent the recent Veterans Day weekend with a New Mexico National Guard unit in the Sinai.  He took with him a list of local jobs ready for returning troops, which Rep. Pearce's office will also be sharing with the unit as it returns home.
