PEARCE HOLDS TELEPHONE TOWN HALL

Dec 6, 2012

Washington, DC (December 6, 2012) – With fiscal cliff negotiations continuing in Washington, Congressman Steve Pearce today held a telephone town hall to discuss the matter with constituents across New Mexico.

“As we work to avoid the fiscal cliff in Washington, it is vital that I am able to hear from the people of New Mexico—their thoughts, ideas, and concerns key to my decision-making” said Pearce.  “New Mexicans are very concerned about our national debt, and today’s call was yet another way they can make sure their voice is heard in Washington.  I appreciate all those who took time from their day to participate.”

The call was held today at 1:30 pm MST, and included outgoing calls to about 90,000 households in New Mexico’s Second Congressional District.

The call included information from Rep. Pearce on the status of fiscal cliff negotiations, survey questions that allowed New Mexicans to key-in their stance on important issues, as well as live, unscreened dialogue between Rep. Pearce and New Mexicans.  Callers were contacted live this afternoon, and were also able to dial in.  Constituents are reminded that they can always communicate with Rep. Pearce through Twitter, Facebook, phone, mail, and email.  They can also sign up on Rep. Pearce’s website, www.pearce.house.gov, to make sure they are contacted for future tele-town halls.
