Washington, DC – Congressman Steve Rothman (D-NJ), a member of the House
Appropriations Defense Subcommittee released the following statement:
“Veterans Day is a special time to remember and honor those
selfless Americans who have served their country in our nation’s armed forces.
By gathering each November 11th to pay tribute to our veterans, we make certain
to annually acknowledge our eternal gratitude to these American heroes who have
courageously fought for our freedom and continue to keep us safe. It is not
only important to remember our nation’s obligations to these brave men and
women, but also to teach our children about the heroism that makes our freedom
possible. On this day, and every day, we must continue to advocate for our
returning heroes, to protect the benefits that they and their families have
earned. There is no more important job than keeping America safe and
secure, and our heroes deserve the very best that our country has to offer both
while they are in active service and when they come home.”
