Washington, DC – On Wednesday May 25, 2011, Israeli veterans, from the group Zahal Shalom, came to Congressman Steve Rothman’s (D-NJ) Washington, DC office to thanks him for his leadership in securing and advancing a strong U.S.-Israel relationship throughout his career in public service. Zahal Shalom was formed by a group of citizens from Bergen County, NJ interested in strengthening the connection between Israel and the American Jewish community. Every year, Zahal Shalom hosts a group of Israeli war veterans in Washington, DC who are selected by the Disabled Israeli War Veteran’s Organization.
