Visiting Washington

Request a Tour

I always encourage people to visit our nation's capital. Washington, DC is a fascinating city consisting of buildings, monuments, and museums which reveal our nation's extraordinary history.

As you plan your trip, please remember that our office would be happy to help arrange tours of the following Washington sites:

  • United States Capitol Building
  • The White House - Please be advised that tours for the White House should be requested a couple months in advance. Thank you.
  • U.S. Mint / Bureau of Engraving and Printing

If you would like for us to help you schedule tours, please click on the following link: Washington, D.C. Tours Form .

Tips for Visiting Capitol Hill:

  • House and Senate Galleries - When Congress is in session, visitors are allowed to view live debate in the House and Senate Galleries from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM from Monday through Friday. To obtain passes to the Galleries, simply visit my Washington office located at 133 Cannon House Office Building.
*Please note that children must be at least six years of age to be admitted to the Senate Gallery. Children under the age of ten are allowed into the House Gallery if accompanied by an adult .
  • Meals - Cafeterias are located throughout the Capitol complex in the Capitol Visitor Center, Longworth House Office Building, and Rayburn House Office Building.
  • Transportation - Since parking is extremely limited in Washington, taxis, buses, and the Metrorail subway are the easiest forms of transportation to and from Capitol Hill.

The Capitol South Metro station is the closest station to our office. For additional details on the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO), please visit: http://www.wmata.com/.
