  1. Yesterday, I appeared on MSNBC to discuss the debt ceiling -- and my bill to abolish it -- and how the GOP deliberately created the "fiscal cliff" crisis:

  3. Today I participated in a Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing about the federal response to Hurricane Sandy, and discussed how we can help those still suffering from its effects while better preparing for the next disaster.
    ...

Hurricane Sandy should be a major wake up call. When disaster strikes, our densely-populated urban areas and economic centers must be able to recover quickly. 5. Today’s vote at the UN will unfortunately do nothing to advance the cause of peace between Israelis and Palestinians or to create two secure states. Peace and security can never be achieved unilaterally, but only through committed two-party negotiations. I truly hope that we can soon return to good faith, bilateral negotiations.
  6. Today I introduced a bi-partisan resolution to pledge all necessary assistance to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. It commits Congress to cutting through bureaucracy to provide immediate assistance, to help rebuild homes and businesses, to repair the infrastructure that was damaged, and to work to reemerge as a nation that is stronger and better prepared for disasters.
