Luetkemeyer Re-elected to Serve as Voice of Communities on National Flood Control Group

Washington, Dec 10 -

U.S. Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-9) has been re-elected as the first vice president for the Mississippi Valley Flood Control Association to continue serving as a critical voice to Missouri river communities on issues including flood control, bank stabilization, navigation and major drainage.

The Mississippi Valley Flood Control Association is made up of representatives from Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. Luetkemeyer was re-elected to his position during a meeting of the group last week in New Orleans.

“I am honored to again serve as a vocal advocate for Missouri’s river communities and look forward to continue working on behalf of hard-working river families that continue to face a variety of critical river issues,” Luetkemeyer said.

Luetkemeyer has worked on numerous important river issues during his first two terms in Congress including channel degradation, flooding, navigation and habitat preservation. Luetkemeyer also has been a vocal supporter of Missouri’s interests when it comes to river levels proposed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and has been an advocate for communities affected by flooding.
