Heck Elected to Second Term on House Republican Conference Steering Committee

Chosen from among freshman classmates for post that shapes Majority direction

WASHINGTON - As the House Republican Conference makes preparations for the 113th session of Congress, Congressman Joe Heck (NV-03) today was re-elected to a second term on the influential House Republican Conference Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is a group of party and committee leaders as well as class leaders and regional representatives that will help shape the direction of the Republican majority in the House of Representatives.

"I'm honored to be chosen by my freshman classmates to represent the class of 2010 on the Steering Committee for a second term," Rep. Heck said. "Being on Steering Committee will allow me to help influence the Republican majority in the next Congress, have a voice in committee leadership positions, and ensure Nevada is well represented in deciding the direction of the House of Representatives. I look forward to working with all of my colleagues on the committee as we prepare to do the people's work in the 113th Congress."
