Congressman Heck Statement on Veterans Day

Nov 14, 2012 Issues: Defense and National Security, Veterans

LAS VEGAS - Congressman Joe Heck (NV-03) today released the following statement on the observance of Veterans Day.

"On Veterans Day, we consider the debt of gratitude we owe, but will never be able to fully repay, all those brave patriots who have answered the call to service, worn our nation's uniform, and fought to defend our country so that we may live free. Their selfless dedication to protecting our homeland and our allies abroad should serve as an inspiration to all Americans. No words can express the thanks felt by a grateful nation, but on Veterans Day we pause to recognize and remember all that our veterans have done for us.

"We owe it to our veterans to ensure that when they come home, they can transition into civilian life and support their families. I remain committed to working with my colleagues in the House of Representatives to see that our veterans have access to educational opportunities, transition support services, and the benefits they have earned and deserved."
