WASHINGTON, DC— House Small Business Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO) today joined House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and other House Republican colleagues at a press conference to unveil the 20 percent Small Business Tax Cut Act this afternoon.

You know I just came from {a hearing}… I’m the Chairman of the Small Business Committee, and we’ve got a hearing going on right now on entrepreneurship, and I just heard from a small business. One of the things I asked was ‘what would help them when it comes to job creation, when they are trying to expand their company, when they are trying to add jobs?’ And the first thing out of that individual was… a little bit of certainty with the tax code and a little bit of tax relief. That’s huge folks. That would allow so many small businesses to be able to pour money right back into their business and expand. We are seeing a lot of stagnation right now in the economy, and we hear from small businesses in the Small Business Committee every single week, and they talk about these things like tax reform, certainty, and regulatory reform. There’s a variety of things. This is one of the first steps to provide some relief for small businesses. As Majority Leader Cantor pointed out, the majority of jobs in this country are created by small businesses, and if small businesses aren’t moving forward then we are not going to see the job creation that we need, it’s just plain simple.”
