Please bear in mind that requests often exceed availability, particularly in the spring and summer. Many sites, such as the White House, begin accepting requests six months in advance, so the earlier you notify me of your upcoming trip the better your chances of getting the tours you want. Also, due to increased security measures, the White House will not accept any requests within 30 days of the anticipated tour date(s), so please be sure to send your requests in early.
Additionally, congressional offices are not informed of the status of certain requests, in particular from the White House Visitor's Center, until roughly two weeks prior to the requested dates.
If tickets through my office are not available, my staff can provide information about public tour options that may be available.
Touring the U.S. Capitol
Tours of the Capitol Building are available through the Capitol Visitors Center, Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are available through the Visitors Center website. Visitors can also obtain tickets for same day tours from the Capitol Guide Service kiosk located at the East and West Fronts of the Capitol or at the Information Desks on the lower level of Capitol Visitors Center. Tickets are distributed on a first come, first served basis and can go quickly, especially during the Spring and Summer months.
Touring Other Points of Interest
To place a tour request for the White House, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, the National Archives, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the Kennedy Center or the National Cathedral please email or call my Washington, D.C. office.
Additionally, there are a variety of sites in Washington, D.C. that are open to the public and do not require tickets. You may wish to visit the House of Representative's D.C. information website to learn more about a variety of memorials, monuments and other places of interest in and around Washington, D.C., or visit the Washington D.C. Convention and Tourism Corporation’s website.
