U.S. Congressman LOUIE GOHMERT: Proudly Serving the First District of Texas

 Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX-01) released the following statement honoring those who have sacrificed their lives and have placed their lives on the line for this great nation:

“Today we celebrate those who have served this country honorably in the United States Military. The brave men and women, who stood guard and those who continue to stand strong, are the defenders of our liberty. They carry the torch of freedom for all Americans. Among these heroes, ‘All gave some; some gave all´--so that we can rest at ease here at home. We are eternally grateful for their service. A simple ‘thank you’ is not enough. We also lift up in prayer the families and friends who have lost loved ones in the heat and height of battle –those who made the ultimate sacrifice. May God continue to bless our veterans and their families, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.”

Congressman Louie Gohmert is the Vice Chair of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security. Prior to being elected to serve in Congress, Louie was elected to three terms as District Judge in Smith County, Texas. He also served as Chief Justice of Texas'12th Court of Appeals.
