Redistricting

Since the founding of our Nation, Congressional District lines have been established by the State legislatures.  On January 3, 2013, the 2nd Congressional District will undergo changes that were approved by the Tennessee State Legislature during the 2010 redistricting process.

Knox, Blount, and Loudon Counties will remain in the Second District; McMinn and Monroe Counties will become part of the Third District; and the Seymour and Kodak areas of Sevier County will become part of the First District.

Added to the Second District are Jefferson, Grainger, and Claiborne Counties and the Jellico area of Campbell County.

The Congressional Districts in Tennessee will each now have a population of approximately 710,000.
