Social Security & Retirement Security

Unless Social Security is reformed, young workers will not be able to depend on Social Security to provide for their retirement.  Over the next twenty-five years, as the baby boomers retire and our population ages, only 2.1 workers will pay into Social Security for each retiree.  Today 3.3 workers pay into Social Security for each retiree, and in 1965, 8.6 workers paid into Social Security for each beneficiary.

To counter these inevitable demographic trends, we must put Social Security on sound fiscal footing.  Comprehensive reform can be achieved without adversely affecting any current or near-retiree.
