Visiting D.C.

Washington, D.C. is an exciting city to visit and is home to some of our nation’s finest historical and cultural attractions. My office is always happy to help you plan your visit, and to answer any questions you may have please call us at 202-224-4524 and ask to speak to the Tour Coordinator or send an email to tours_cardin@cardin.senate.gov.

The White House

The White House offers self-guided tours on Tuesdays through Saturdays in the mornings beginning at 7:30 am. Tours are awarded on a first-come, first- serve basis and can be requested up to six months in advance. Due to the high demand for White House tours, we recommend that you submit your requests three to six months in advance.

To request a tour, please email tours_cardin@cardin.senate.gov with your name, phone number, mailing address and email address. We will reply with instructions about the additional information we need to request a White House tour for you.

The U.S. Capitol Building

Tours of the United State Capitol begin at the Capitol Visitor Center with an excellent orientation film. Please go to the website for more information about Capitol tours and other attractions in the Visitor Center. You can book a guided Capitol tour for the time most convenient for you by clicking “Book a Tour” on the Visitors Center website. Tours do not include passes for the Senate Gallery. If you want to visit the gallery, you can stop by my office at 509 Hart Senate Office Building to pick up gallery passes before your tour.
