Ben Cardin - Senator for Maryland

Inaugural Information

Thank you for your interest in the Second Inauguration of President Barack Obama on Monday, January 21st, 2013.

I have been given a very limited number of tickets to distribute to Maryland residents to attend the Inauguration on the National Mall. I will be distributing these tickets via a lottery, and will be taking names of interested constituents until Friday, December 28th, 2012.

You may click on the link below to fill out an online form and apply to the lottery. Please fill out all the information requested. Because of the limited supply of tickets I have been given, you may request a maximum of two tickets. Should you receive tickets, you will need to pick up the tickets from my Washington, DC or Baltimore offices in January in person (or designate a person to pick them up for you). It is illegal to sell these tickets.

Viewing the swearing-in ceremony from the National Mall does not require tickets.  The non-ticketed area of the National Mall begins at 4th Street, NW.

Balls, Galas, Parties, Parade and Volunteer Opportunities

The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) is responsible for all balls, galas, receptions, parties, the official Inaugural Day parade and volunteer opportunities.  The Presidential Inaugural Committee has not yet developed a website.  We will update this page with a link to the PIC’s site once it has been established, probably by mid-December.

If you would like to learn more about the history of the inaugural ceremony, please visit the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies at: www.inaugural.senate.gov. You can also follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/JCCIC.
