DelBene Demands Vote On Middle Class Tax Relief

Rep. DelBene calls for a vote on bill to protect the typical working family from getting hit with a $2,200 tax increase on January 1st.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Suzan DelBene released the following statement regarding her signing onto a discharge petition to automatically bring the middle class tax cuts legislation for a vote on the House floor:

“As our nation gets closer to the “fiscal cliff,” it’s critical we take action now to help working families who are struggling and help our economy get back on track.

“The American people expect Congress to work together and get results. Filing this discharge petition is an attempt to move forward on a bipartisan policy that everyone agrees on: providing tax relief for 98 percent of all Americans and 97 percent of small businesses.

“Preventing the looming tax increase on the middle class is a straight forward way to help our economy and provide relief to working families immediately.

“The sooner we get this done, the more time we will have to work together on a long term plan to bring down our deficits in a balanced way that includes tax reform and reigns in spending. “
