Cummings Issues Statement on November Jobs Numbers

Dec 7, 2012 Issues: Economy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and a member of the Joint Economic Committee, issued the following statement in response to the November jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that the U.S. economy added 146,000 jobs in November:

“Today’s report is further confirmation that our country is continuing to move forward. With their votes, the American people spoke and they chose to stay the course that President Obama has laid out.  I am optimistic that House Republicans will honor the will of the people and work with us to identify a plan to avoid the fiscal cliff, ensure that everyone pays their fair share, and support our nation’s ongoing recovery.”
