Internships

Washington Internship Program

Our office is always accepting resumes from college students interested in interning for academic credit. There are three internship sessions each year. By assisting the Congressman’s staff, interns in the Washington, D.C. office will have an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the federal government by working closely with the legislative, communications, and constituent services staff members. Interns help answer phone calls, respond to constituent correspondence, facilitate Capitol tours, and conduct research.

All interns may receive college credit and a monthly stipend.  Our internship program is open to all area college students, regardless of major, though preference is given to residents of the First District and those from universities in the district. Candidates selected for the Washington, D.C. office are responsible for paying their travel and living expenses. Interested candidates should first contact the intern coordinators in their respective higher education institutions who collect and process applications for our office.

Internship Sessions:
Fall: August-December
Spring: January-May
Summer: May-August
