Congressman Canseco’s Statement on the August Jobs Report
Washington, D.C. - Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco (TX-23), a former small business owner and strong supporter of pro-growth economic policies, issued the following statement in response to the Department of Labor’s August jobs report which showed the unemployment rate still over 8%:
"Today’s jobs report is another sobering reminder of the failure of President Obama’s economic policies. Despite President Obama's attempt to spend, borrow, tax, and regulate our way to economic prosperity, the number of unemployed Americans is still higher than when President Obama took office and the unemployment rate has been above 8% for 43 straight months. In fact, as a result of President Obama's failed economic policies, a staggering 23 million Americans are either unemployed, have given up looking for work, or are working part-time because they can't find a full-time job in the Obama economy. The Obama Administration can try and spin these numbers as evidence of success all they want, but the American people aren’t buying it and instead want to know, 'where are the jobs?'”
