“I have consistently stated that I am not in favor of tax increases. I have also consistently said I am in favor of significant tax reform to lower rates, simplify the code and close loopholes, actions that will increase revenue and improve America’s fiscal solvency.” – Sen. Chambliss, Politico, November 3, 2011

As my voting record demonstrates, I do not believe that raising taxes is the answer to our nation’s fiscal crisis. The current tax code has become too burdensome and complex, and is filled with provisions that only benefit a few Americans at the expense of everyone else. That’s simply not right. By cleaning up the tax code and eliminating inefficient and wasteful tax giveaways, we can reduce tax rates for individuals and corporations while incentivizing the economy.

Significant reform of the tax code that lowers the tax rates for all Americans will encourage businesses to invest.  More business investments means more jobs. With more Americans back to work revenues into the federal treasury will increase.
