Virginia is a nationwide leader in technology and telecommunications.  In fact, the high tech industry provides close to 300,000 jobs in Virginia, giving Virginia the highest percentage of technology workers in the country.



Technology is crucial to advancing Virginia’s priorities, from expanding high-speed Internet service in rural communities to increasing broadband technology at our historically black colleges and universities. My staff and I have worked hard to secure funding for such programs because these services are essential to attracting new businesses and spurring economic development in the Commonwealth.
 

I am continuing to support projects to keep the Commonwealth’s technology and telecommunications sectors healthy and productive.
