Keeping Our Military Strong - Keeping America Secure

As a senior member of the prestigious Senate Committee on the Armed Services, Sen. Sessions is a leading advocate for keeping the United States Armed Forces the strongest in the world.  He is an unwavering supporter of our courageous men and women in uniform and is known in Washington for his advocacy on their behalf.

Sessions is proud of his commitment to America's soldiers.  He signed on as an original co-sponsor of S. 1606, the Dignified Treatment of Wounded Warriors Act.  In 2007, he successfully guided legislation through the Senate to correct a surprising loophole in federal law to ensure that military enlistees receive their full enlistment bonuses.

Senator Sessions is a senior member on the Strategic Forces Subcommittee, which oversees all U.S. nuclear weapons, missile defense, and strategic strike programs. In this role, he has been a strong advocate for protecting American security through deterrence and defense.

Sessions also serves on the Subcommittee on Airland, which is responsible for Army and Air Force programs as well as the Navy and Marine Corps' technical aviation programs.  Additionally, Senator Sessions serves on the Subcommittee on Seapower, overseeing all maritime issues.

Senator Sessions recognizes that our Armed Forces serve a critical role in protecting our security, but that our troops should only be put in harms way as a last resort.  Sessions is firm in his belief that, once committed, America's young men and women deserve all the support and resources of their federal government as they carry out their important missions overseas.
