Serving Illinois

Federal Agency Help

Cutting through the red tape of the federal government can be frustrating and confusing. My staff and I are able to act as intermediaries between you and a federal agency when you have a problem. This could be anything from not receiving your social security check, to expediting a passport request, to making service academy nominations. Caseworkers in my Chicago and Springfield offices specialize in getting answers to your questions.

Regional Agendas

The concerns and issues facing communities in Illinois are not always the same. I have developed regional agendas to address the needs of specific regions throughout the state. Through legislative initiatives and intervention with state and local agencies, I will work to see these regional agendas through to completion. The specifically targeted regions are as follows:

Internships

An internship on Capitol Hill is an excellent way for college students to learn first hand how the legislative branch of the federal government operates, while gaining critical job training skills in a fast-paced, exciting work environment. For information on interning for Senator Kirk, please click here.

Constituent Coffee

Every Thursday when the Senate is in session, and legislative business is taking place, Senator Richard Durbin and I host an open forum for residents of Illinois who are visiting Washington, D.C. for coffee, donuts, and conversation. For more information on Senator Kirk's Constituent Coffee, please click here.
