How Can I Help You?

As your United States Senator, I can help you with many different services and agencies to help you meet your needs. To make it easier, we've begun a program where my staff holds office hours in locations throughout Massachusetts. Check this page often to find the latest office hours.

If you can't make it to any of those times, please choose from any of the options here so that we can get working to help you. Please click here to download the Privacy Release Form you will need to fill out to receive help from my office.

Internships

Internships

Senator Kerry's offices welcome the assistance of volunteers who wish to experience the inside workings of a Senate office. Visit this page to learn more about applying for an internship in either our Boston or Washington offices.

Federal Casework

Federal Casework

Our office has always gone the extra mile to help Massachusetts residents resolve problems they are having with a Federal government agency. This help often takes the form of helping to expedite bureaucratic processes and bringing attention to individual cases that may have fallen through the cracks. Find out how our office can help you by clicking the link above.

Order a Flag

Order a Flag

Our office can arrange for Massachusetts residents to purchase an American flag that has flown over the Capitol. This service is not provided at taxpayer expense. Rather, the person making the request is asked to pay a small fee to cover the cost of the flag and processing expenses.

Tours

Tours

Passes to the United States Senate Gallery can be picked up in my office (Russell Senate Building, SR-218). No advance notice is needed to obtain these passes. A scheduled tour of the Capitol can be arranged through my office for groups of 15 or less. These tours are offered Monday thru Friday, 10am-3pm. Groups of 15 or more can obtain tours through the U.S. Capitol Guide Service.

Academy Nominations

Academy Nominations

Every year, a select number of young men and women from Massachusetts start preparing to serve their country -- while getting an excellent education -- by attending one of the nation's service academies: the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, The U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Federal Funding

Federal Funding and Grants

Every year, the federal government distributes funds to worthy organizations and individuals across the country through appropriations, grants, and other menas. Learn more about this process and see helpful information about federal grants from the Congressional Research Service.

Senate Youth Program

Senate Youth Program

The United States Senate Youth Program is an excellent opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to deepen their knowledge of the Senate and the federal government overall, as well as receive a one-time five thousand dollar college scholarship to the undergraduate college of their choice. The Senate Page program is an extensive, immersive experience for high school juniors, a chance to live in Washington, DC and work in the United States Senate.

Business Opportunities

Business Opportunities

The United States government is the world's largest purchaser of goods and services, and it can be a daunting task figuring out how to sell in that market, especially for small businesses. This page, prepared by the Congressional Research Service, can help guide you through the process. As the former Chairman of the Small Business Committee and a former small businessman, John Kerry is committed to helping Massachusetts small businesses compete and win into today's economy.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid

Another product of the Congressional Research Service, this page guides students or parents through the process of applying for financial aid to attend school. Higher education is a must in today's global economy, and we want to make sure that students have all the information they need to make schooling a possibility.
