Academy Nominations

Interested in attending one of the nation's service academies? This section provides information on each of the academies and Senator Inouye's nominating process.

Special Recognitions

Senator Inouye sends personalized correspondence for birthdays, retirements, military promotions, and other special recognition. Click here to submit your request.

Grants and Procurements

Federal funding is available for various types of projects, including those related to health care, education, community development and infrastructure. Private foundations also award grants to institutions and organizations working to improve their communities. This website is designed to help Hawaii residents identify the funding sources that are available and best suited for them.

Flags Requests

Senator Inouye's office can arrange to have a flag flown over the United States Capitol to commemorate a special holiday, event or occasion.

Visiting Washington, D.C.

Are you planning a trip to Washington? Senator Inouye's office can schedule a tour of the Capitol, the White House, and other historic sites of national importance for you.  His office can also and provide information about the best sites to see in the nation's capital.

Internships

The best way for students to learn about the legislative process is by interning for a Congressional office. Senator Inouye's office offers two internships during the summer, fall and spring semesters.

Page Nominations

Each year, Senator Inouye has the opportunity to select one or two young people to serve as Senate Pages. This section includes information about the process and qualifications to become a Page.

Appropriations

Senator Daniel K. Inouye has served on the Appropriations Committee for 40 years, first joining the Committee in 1971. The Appropriations Committee is the largest and considered by many to be the most powerful committee in the U.S. Senate.
