The following information will help you better plan an upcoming trip to the Washington, DC area. There are many things to do and see in Washington. We hope the following list of tour sites and resources will be helpful as you plan your visit. Some tours require no reservations; others require reservations well in advance of the tour date.

Our office can assist in scheduling these tours for you. I recommend that you start planning your visit to Washington, D.C. early. Tours at many locations fill up quickly, so it is important to get your request(s) in as soon as possible, but NO MORE THAN SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE. Please fill out the Tour Request Form or call us at (202) 224-6121 and let us know what we can do for you.

IMPORTANT: You will receive an initial email once we have received your submission. (If you do not receive this email within a few days of requesting, please call our office at (202) 224-6121 and ask to speak with the Tour Coordinator to confirm that your submission was received.) Once we receive a confirmation or denial for all requested tours, we will send you an e-mail TWO TO THREE WEEKS BEFORE YOUR TRIP with all the information you need.

Tours of Interest

Due to high demand and space limitations at many points of interest, please understand that we cannot guarantee tickets.

Capitol

Staff-led tours of the Capitol are available for South Carolinians through my office, Monday through Friday. For security reasons, staff-led tours are for groups of 15 or less. Please make all staff-led tour requests at least two weeks in advance. For groups larger than 15 people, tours can be scheduled with the Capitol Guide Service by contacting my office. Guided group tours are offered Monday through Friday. Please make all group requests at least eight weeks in advance. Due to limited availability, please understand that I cannot guarantee that all Capitol tour requests will be fulfilled.

White House

Please submit White House requests three to six months in advance as spots are extremely limited. Available only Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Library of Congress

Please submit request at least two weeks in advance.

Bureau of Engraving

Please submit request at least one month in advance due to limited availability.
