Senator Cantwell can help Washington state organizations and individuals purchase flags from the U.S. Capitol, including those that have been flown over the Capitol to mark occasions such as retirements, birthdays, anniversaries, or other special events.

For flag(s) flown over the Capitol, a flying fee of $4.05 is added to the cost of your flag and you will receive a certificate of authenticity from the Architect of the Capitol with the name of the person or organization that the flag was flown for, the date and the occasion. If you are requesting your flag(s) be flown on a specific date, your order MUST be received three weeks prior to that date.

Instructions

  1. Complete the flag order form below and print out a copy of your completed form.
  2. Fill out a check or complete a money order for the total cost of your order, payable to: KEEPER OF THE STATIONERY. We are unable to accept checks made out to Senator Cantwell or her office.
  3. Mail your completed order form, with enclosed check or money order to:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we cannot guarantee delivery date, but we will make every effort to process your order as efficiently and quickly as possible. When planning a flag order, please keep in mind that security screening typically delays postal mail by two to three weeks. It takes approximately two months for flag orders to be received, processed and shipped back to constituents.

Each flag will be accompanied with a certificate signed by the Architect of the Capitol certifying the date that the flag was flown over the United States Capitol and listing the name of the person/persons or organization for whom the flag was purchased. Please provide the following information, as applicable, so that we can include the appropriate information on the flag certificate.

Normal processing time for flags flown over the Capitol is 4 to 6 weeks. All prices listed are at cost, and no profit is incurred.
