2013 Inauguration Ceremony Information

On April 30, 1789 George Washington stood on the balcony of Federal Hall in New York as Robert Livingston, the Chancellor of New York, swore him in as the first President of the United States. On January 20, 2013, after more than two hundred years, we will celebrate the 57th quadrennial Presidential Inauguration. Throughout America's proud history, the Presidential Inauguration and Inaugural Address have served to unite the nation together under one flag and to the republic for which it stands. And as each president has also offered a vision for America's future, the heritage of inaugurations past is one of both solemn honoring and celebration of our nation's leadership at home and around the world.

The Presidential Inaugural swearing–in ceremony of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States will take place on January 21, 2013. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held on the west front of the United States Capitol. A limited number of tickets to the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony will be distributed to each Senate office. My office will hold a lottery on December 10, 2012 to select Nevadans who have submitted their requests for tickets.

If you are representing an organization wishing to apply to participate in the 57th Presidential Inaugural Parade, to be held Monday January 21, including bands, marching and mounted units, and floats, please click here. All applications must be submitted on-line and no materials will be accepted via regular mail.

For the most updated information concerning the 57th presidential inauguration please visit the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) site here.

Should you have any further questions or need to submit any changes to your request please contact Devlin Daneshforouz at 202-224-1250.

Nevadans should also be aware that tickets will be provided free of charge, and that no other organization, website or ticket outlet is authorized or has received legitimate inaugural swearing–in tickets to sell or otherwise give-away.

Thank you for reaching out to my office in order to request tickets to the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. The ticket request period has now ended and all submissions have been finalized and cannot be changed. The lottery will occur on December 10, 2012, and my staff will notify you of the status of your request by December 21, 2012.
