Washington Tour Requests

If you would like Senator Paul's office to assist you in arranging tours of some of these attractions, please fill out a Tour Request Form:

The completed form can be faxed to Senator Paul's office at 202-228-6917 or e-mailed to Tour_Request@paul.senate.gov. We hope you enjoy your stay in Washington!

NOTE: It is always at the discretion of the tour institutions to confirm or decline a tour. Senator Paul's office cannot guarantee tours. Tours are confirmed or denied based on the number of requests each attraction receives.

NOTICE: The following attractions have either been cancelled or offer only limited public tours of their facilities. Please visit the attraction's website for the most up-to-date information.

U.S. Supreme Court -- Congressional offices are only permitted six spots for visitors daily, making availability limited.

Federal Bureau of Investigation -- All tours have been cancelled until further notice due to renovation of the FBI building.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing -- Due to high volume, tour requests are more likely to be approved when requested 4-6 months in advance.

White House -- Due to high volume, tour requests are more likely to be approved when requested 6 months in advance

NOTE: Should you have an interest in touring the White House, please be advised that the White House may be unable to approve all tour requests due to the large number of requests submitted by the 535 Congressional offices. Please know that my office will do everything we can within the White House tour guidelines to confirm a tour for you.

White House Guidelines on Public Tours:

• Requests will be granted by the White House on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the tour request form is submitted to the White House, the number of requested tourists may not be increased.
• Tour requests must be received three to six months in advance. Please fax your request to the Senator's tour coordinator at 202-228-6917 or e-mail your request to tours@paul.senate.gov. In the past, groups who have submitted tour requests six months in advance have had the most success receiving tours. We suggest you work with our office as soon as you begin making your travel plans. The more notice our office has of your trip, the better we can assist you in arranging the appropriate tours.
• Tours are scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 40 days prior to the requested date. Groups are scheduled according to the date the request was received and according to how many tours our office has been allotted for the year. The group may select more than one date for consideration. However, the White House schedules the tour and the tour time. Our office merely acts as a liaison between you and the White House Visitors Office. Tours may be denied due to the overwhelming number of requests the White House receives. All White House tours are self-guided; tour officers are positioned throughout the White House to help with questions.
• We will need a list of each individual in your group, including their birth date, gender, social security number, country of origin and country of citizenship. This list must be received no later than 40 days prior to your arrival in Washington. Once your list has been submitted to the White House, no additions can be made to your group. Security information must be filled out using the White House Security Template, which we will e-mail you after we receive your tour request form.

Tour Information

White House Tour Information:

Tour Summary: The tour includes visits to the State Dining Room, the Red Room, the Blue Room, the Green Room, and the East Room.

Closest Metro Stop: McPherson Square (Blue and Orange lines)
Tour Length: 30-45 minutes, self-guided
Availability: Tuesday-Thursday from 7:30am-11am, Friday from 7:30am-noon and Saturday 7:30am to 1pm (excluding federal holidays). The White House Visitor's Office reserves the right to select the time.
How to Request a Tour: All White House Tours must be requested at least 30 days in advance and up to six months in advance. Constituents are encouraged to submit their request as early as possible since a limited number of tours are available and tours are scheduled on a first come, first served basis approximately three weeks in advance of the requested date.
Costs: Free.
Notes: You will be notified of your tour's status approximately three weeks before the requested tour date.
Security Information: Once you have submitted your request and have been contacted by my office, constituents must provide security information (including the full names, social security numbers, dates of birth, status of citizenship, and city & state of residence for EACH member of the group) to my office, which is in turn passed on to the White House. You will then be notified via email if your tour request was accepted or denied.

Capitol Tour Information:

Tour Summary: The United States Capitol in Washington, DC is among the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. The tour includes visits to the Crypt, Rotunda, Old Supreme Court Chamber, Statuary Hall, and House Gallery.
Closest Metro Stop: Capitol South (Blue and Orange lines)
Tour Length: 1½ to 2 hours, depending on crows
Tour Availability: Tours through the Capitol Visitors Service are available between 9:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday and can be booked through my office or through the Capitol Visitor's Center Web site. Visitors seeking a tour through the Capitol Visitors Center may also obtain same-day tickets at the Capitol Guide Service kiosk beginning at 9:00 am.
Costs: Free.
Notes: Constituents can also obtain Gallery passes to view House and Senate proceedings as they unfold through my Washington, D.C. office.

Bureau of Printing and Engraving Tour Information:

Tour Summary: The tour allows the public to view and learn about the various steps of currency production.
Address: 14th and C Streets, SW Washington, DC 20228
Closest Metro Stop: Smithsonian (Blue and Orange lines)
Tour Length: One hour
Constituent Tour Availability: Monday through Friday 8:15 am and 8:45 am for groups of 10 or less.
In the months of May through August, tours are also available at 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, and 4:45 pm. Please request tour at least 1 month before the desired tour date. (We encourage you to submit your request as early as possible since a limited number of tours are available and tours are scheduled on a first come, first served basis).
Public Tour Availability: During non-peak season-September through February-no tickets are required. Free timed tickets are required for entry during peak season, March through August. Visitors may obtain tickets at the onsite ticket booth located on Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street) beginning at 8:00 am and closes when all tickets have been distributed. Ticket times include 9:00 am to 10:45 am and 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. In the months of May through August, additional tours are available 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Costs: Free.
Notes: Lines form early and tickets go quickly. On most days, all tickets have been distributed before 7 am. During this time of heightened security, be advised that all tour policies are subject to change without public notification. If the Department of Homeland Security level is elevated to CODE ORANGE, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is CLOSED to the public unless otherwise noted.
