Appropriations

Appropriations

Appropriations projects direct federal funds to local communities to meet their needs, invest in the local economies, and put Oregonians to work.  Each year, requests are submitted to members of Congress for consideration as part of the annual federal spending bills.  As part of Senate-wide efforts to make the process more transparent, all offices are required to post on-line the projects submitted by each Senator.

For more information regarding the Congressional appropriations process, please see this report from the Congressional Research Service.

FY 2011 Requests Received by the Offices of Senators Merkley and Wyden

The appropriation requests on these pages were received by the offices of Senator Merkley and Senator Wyden. To ensure that the voices of Oregonians are heard during this process, we encourage you to submit any feedback or comments you have about the appropriation requests through the Contact Jeff page.  These requests have not been vetted or approved by the Senate offices, and their inclusion in this list does not indicate any judgment about the projects' value, appropriateness, or likelihood of receiving funding. Every funding request has been included, and project summaries have been draw verbatim from applicants' proposals. Not all of the requests received by both Senators will be submitted for funding consideration to the Senate Appropriations Committee, and that Committee will then select a limited number of projects to fund from each state.
