Personal Information

Your personal information may be available to members of my staff in an effort to assist in responding to your message or request.

If you are requesting help with a federal agency, it may be necessary for my office to share that information with applicable government agencies in order to respond to your request. In these situations, we may ask you to complete a Privacy Act waiver form.

Other than when needed to perform constituent casework at your request, or in the course of a legal proceeding, authorized law enforcement investigation, or emergency posing a risk to public safety, my office will not share personal information with any outside organization or individual.

One other area in which information may be shared involves constituent comments concerning such things as legislation and governmental policy issues. From time to time, I come across a comment that I would like to share publicly in connection to debate in the U.S. Senate or with a relevant government agency. In such cases, my staff makes every effort to contact the author and request permission to share their comment. If you intend your message to remain confidential, and would prefer that it not be used in such a way, please advise me of your preference in your message.
