White House Tours:

West Virginians may request tours of the East Wing of the White House through Senator Manchin’s office.

If you are interested in a tour of the East Wing of the White House, please e-mail tours@manchin.senate.gov or call (202) 224-3954. Please be advised that there is very limited availability for White House East Wing tours, and that all tour requests are either approved or denied by the White House, not Senator Manchin’s office. Below please find the guidelines you should follow for requesting a tour of the East Wing of the White House.

  • Requests should be made 4-6 months in advance.  Peak tourist season in Washington, D.C. is March through September.  Please give as much notice as possible if you are planning a visit during these months.
  • Tours are available Tuesday through Saturday between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. except on federal holidays.  Please note that some dates may be cancelled at the discretion of the White House due to special events.
  • The White House Visitors Office typically makes tour decisions approximately 2-3 weeks prior to your requested tour date.  Senator Manchin’s office will contact you as soon as notification is received from the White House staff regarding your tour.
  • To process your request, the White House requires that your security information be entered in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Senator Manchin’s office will be happy to send you the spreadsheet via email. If you do not have access to email, please call 202-224-3954 to speak with Senator Manchin’s tour coordinator.
  • The White House requires personal information from each guest, including date of birth, Social Security number, and current city of residence. Your information will be kept confidential and will only be shared with the White House Visitors Office.

Please understand that all tour approvals and denials are made by the White House Visitors Office, not by Senator Manchin’s office, and are subject to last minute cancellation.

The White House Visitors Center does not require a reservation and is open 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is located on the southeast corner of 15th and E Streets at 1450 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. More information can be found at the official White House tour website at http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/tours-and-events
