United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP)

High school students interested in learning more about public service and seeing the legislative process in action should consider applying for the U.S. Senate Youth Program (USSYP). This weeklong educational program gives high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to observe firsthand activities on the floor of the U.S. Senate, as well as participate in major policy discussions. Two students from each state are selected to participate in USSYP each year, which takes place every March on Capitol Hill. In addition, each delegate receives a $5,000 scholarship for their college education.

I am proud to have served as a past advisory board member of USSYP  and continue to support the program. Our goal is to help instill a more profound knowledge of the American political process and a lifelong commitment to public service.

The 50th Annual USSYP will take place March 3-10, 2012. The deadline to submit your appliction is October 14, 2011. For additional application information, I invite you to visit USSYP's website: http://www.ussenateyouth.org. I hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
