Senator Boxer: Avoiding Long Lines on Election Day

Thursday, December 6, 2012

Dear Friend:

This week, I introduced the LINE Act, election reform legislation that would help ensure that all Americans can vote without facing hours-long delays at their polling places.  I also urged Attorney General Eric Holder to take steps to immediately address the problems that left voters in Florida, Ohio, Virginia and other states waiting in line for up to 7 hours on Election Day.

It is my belief that long lines at the polls, no matter the reason, are tantamount to denying the fundamental right to vote.  To read more about the LINE Act, please click here.  To read my letter to Attorney General Holder, click here.

Sincerely,

Barbara Boxer, US Senator, California
