Helping hard-working Americans stay in their homes and ending the foreclosure crisis is a pressing problem that Senator Blumenthal is committed to addressing. Our economic recovery is closely tied to the recovery of the housing market, and we must do everything we can to address this crisis.

In particular, Senator Blumenthal has fought to ensure that homeowners are treated fairly by lenders. As Connecticut’s Attorney General, he took on irresponsible loan servicers who were signing thousands of foreclosure documents without confirming their accuracy, engaging in so-called “robo-signing.” Senator Blumenthal is continuing this fight through his work on the Judiciary Committee, pushing for legislation to protect homeowners, including military personnel serving our country far from home, by making sure our judicial system holds creditors accountable for illegal behavior.
