Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere

Chairman Connie Mack (R-FL)
As Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Mr. Mack works to promote freedom and stability in the region by calling attention to threats, injustices, and opportunities for cooperation throughout the hemisphere. Chairman Mack is a staunch opponent of Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and his corrosive influence as seen in Chavez’s Bolivarian Alliance. He is a strong supporter of mutual prosperity initiatives like the free trade agreements with Panama and Colombia and efforts to preserve democratic governance, free speech, and freedom of the press. Chairman Mack believes foreign policy in Latin America should be based on shared values and the pillars of freedom, security, and prosperity.
