WASHINGTON – Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) issued the following statement today after the House of Representatives passed a Continuing Resolution (H.R. 1473) to fund the federal government for the rest of this fiscal year while also reducing spending by nearly $40 billion from Fiscal Year 2010 levels.

Bass said:

"This Continuing Resolution is just the first 100 yards of a 26-mile marathon. While not perfect, this agreement will allow Congress to fund the government for the rest of this fiscal year and get to work on next year's budget and appropriations process. More importantly, it reflects Congress' commitment to controlling spending and getting the federal government to live within its means. We can finally put the debate on this bill behind us and get back to work on pursuing policies that strengthen our economy and allow the private sector to create jobs."
