WASHINGTON – Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) issued the following statement today after President Obama announced he was nominating Dartmouth President Jim Yong Kim to serve as president of the World Bank.

Bass, a 1974 graduate of Dartmouth College, said:

"It is with great pride that I offer my fullest congratulations to President Jim Yong Kim for his nomination to serve as World Bank president. I have had the honor to work with President Kim in my capacity as his Congressman representing Dartmouth College and as a loyal alumnus of the school. President Obama has chosen to nominate a proven leader and humanitarian that I am confident will be able to meet the challenges of this position. While his departure will truly be a loss for the Dartmouth community, it will be a great gain for the global community."
