WASHINGTON – Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) today called on the Senate Democratic Leadership to do their job and pass a budget this year. Today marks the 1,000th day since Democrats in the Senate last passed a budget.

Bass said:

"Last year, the House did its job and passed a budget in April, setting a blueprint for our nation's spending priorities. Unfortunately, we have yet to see the same commitment to fiscal responsibility from the Senate Democratic Leadership, who have punted their responsibility to the American people for 1,000 days. This is unacceptable. It's important that both chambers complete a budget so we set a responsible and accountable spending plan for our nation. As any family or business knows, it's impossible to constrain unnecessary or wasteful spending if you don't have a budget plan.

"As the budget process moves forward over the next few months for the next fiscal year, I hope the Senate will do its job this year and pass a budget. The American people expect nothing less."
