CONCORD, NH – Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) today announced his support for Governor John Lynch's request for a federal disaster declaration for Coos and Grafton Counties after the flooding that occurred in late May.

Bass said:

"Federal disaster assistance will help with the costs of rebuilding and repairing infrastructure in the North Country, which experienced heavy rains and flooding several different times in the spring. Having been to Coos and Grafton Counties on numerous trips in the spring, I have seen some of the flooding and infrastructure damage firsthand and understand how essential this assistance is to individuals and businesses in the region. I look forward to working with the Governor and the rest of the New Hampshire Congressional Delegation on this request."

The State of New Hampshire estimates the cost of the damages to be $1.8 million.
