WASHINGTON – Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) issued the following statement today following the announcement that terrorist mastermind and al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces.

Bass said:

"This is a tremendous day for our nation, and especially for our troops and the U.S. intelligence community who have brought justice to this ruthless terrorist. Almost 10 years after the horrific tragedy that struck our country, this is a key victory over al-Qaeda in the ongoing war on terrorism. Our vigilance against terrorism and evil will continue, but hopefully the Americans who lost loved ones on that fateful day can find some peace.

"I am so proud of the Navy SEALS who pulled off this heroic mission in the face of great danger, and I join all Granite Staters in remembering and thanking the brave and selfless men and women serving our nation and the fight for freedom. May God continue to bless America and those who keep our nation safe."
