NASHUA – Charlie Bass is back.

Not only did the Republican win the 2nd Congressional District seat that he previously lost, but now he has returned to downtown Nashua.

The congressman's staff announced Monday that Bass has opened three offices in New Hampshire, including one on Nashua's Main Street.

Bass' office is at 221 Main St., Suite 201. The office building is just north of City Hall and shares an address with Hampshire First Bank and several law firms.

Paul Hodes, the Democrat who held the seat from 2007-10, had the same office space in Nashua when he was in Congress.

In a statement, Bass urged residents to contact the office for help.

"I encourage constituents to contact me with their questions, comments or concerns, or if you need assistance with a federal agency," Bass wrote. "My staff and I stand ready to help in any way that we can."

Bass will also have offices at 114 N. Main St., Suite 200, in Concord, and 32 Main St., Room 110, in Littleton. Hodes had the same Littleton office, and had a Concord office about a half-mile away from Bass's office there.

Bass chose to move into Hodes' old Nashua space because it made for an easier transition, said Stephanie DuBois, spokeswoman for the congressman.

Also, a Main Street office is prominent and visible, DuBois said. The three offices are now up and running, she said.

Bass had a congressional office on 170 Main St. prior to losing in 2006.

He served six terms as the 2nd District representative before losing to Hodes. He defeated Democrat Ann McLane Kuster in November 2010 to recapture the seat.
