In order to right our nation's fiscal path and balance the budget, Congress should reform our nation's tax code to make it simpler, flatter, and fairer. While I believe that Americans are not taxed too little, but rather that Washington spends too much, we still have the opportunity to reform our tax code by cutting bureaucratic and burdensome red tape, broaden the base to better protect against economic fluctuations, close special interest and corporate loopholes, become more globally competitive, and decrease the burden on families and small businesses so as to create economic growth.
